PDA surgery successfully completed!  Now it is on to recovery, which will probably be difficult but we hope will be breezy.  The surgeon did note that Nolan’s blood pressure went up right after the surgery (they’ve been concerned that it has been persistently low), so it looks like that should be one benefit of the surgery.

They’re working on stabilizing Nolan now.  We’ll try to update again once we get more news, though sometimes the news is a long time in coming.

Thanks for keeping watch over the butterbean.

Wow! What a SuperBean he is! Cerebral bleed? No problem. A few inches of necrotic intestine? Piece of cake. A little pulmonary distress? Pshaw. PDA? No biggie. Nolan keeps knocking down these pesky little problems like so many irritating gnats. What a stunning, amazing little man. I remain in awe, and sending big love.

If someone poked and prodded me that much and cut me open twice to take pieces out and stick other things together, I’d have a difficult time recovering too! And I’m at least 100 times bigger than he is! So more power to the little critter and his love team, and thank God he’s doing so well. Just tell us where to channel the energy and we’re there.
