Updates on Nolan

closing in…

posted by maria on Saturday (02/10)

About an hour after my last post, I got the news that Nolan is ready to come home now.  During rounds this morning, the doctor said he was ready to begin the discharge process!  Tonight (Friday night) Kara and Ronan are sleeping at the hospital in a room with Nolan.  I assume the hospital does this to make sure they have a chance to step through the nighttime routines once while staff are available to answer questions, and to give them some kind of transition space.  After the night at the hospital, they have a “rest night” at home, then Nolan will come home with them on Sunday.  Sunday!

We’ve been following your web site since Ronan left the hospital. We are very happy that the head ultrasound and eye exam showed good news and that Nolan is finally going to get to go home. Our house was not ready either when Julia went home, but she didn’t care much. We wish you the best of luck in your new life. Please don’t hesitate to call anytime if you have any questions. 677-8976. We just went through it and things are a little confusing at first.

Your friends from Pod B and Pod C although we were never in the same pod at the same time. Julia and Ronan

WOW– I can’t wait to start getting reports of “normal” mama-daddy-baby life at your house. Blessings!

Not sure how much you’ll check this now that Nolan is home, but I’ll write anyway. Our talks at home have shifted from “Little Nolan…have such a good day” to “I wonder how it’s going, and Wow, parents!, grown up, doing it all by yoursleves” We cannot wait to visit in March and hold that little cutie-pie!!!

  18. Alice Rolen:

Sleep well, Nolan, in your new bed—and in the arms of your wonderful parents who will probably not want to put you down very much for at least the next 5 months…we are so happy to hear this news. Love, Amanda and Liz
