first visit? this should help…
This site was thrown up in a hurry and will be organized a bit better as time allows. Right now, you may find broken links and other odd problems. Sorry about that, but as you can imagine, perfect websites are not a priority right now!
If you’re new to the site, here’s a very brief tour:
1. Posts are in reverse chronological order, with the most recent post at the top of the page. That’s great if you’ve been following along, so the new information is right at the top, but when you first arrive, you’ll have some catching up to do and it’s a pain to do it by reading the posts backwards! I’ve set up two other options for getting caught up.
If you want to read all the posts to date including the comments people have left after each post, click on “start at first post” on the menu to the left, and use the “next post” links to read through all the posts until you’re caught up (you’ll know because you won’t be able to click “next post” any more).
If you want to read all the posts through without the comments, you can click on the “chronological posts” link in the sidebar. All of the posts will be displayed on one page in chronological order… but you’ll miss sharing the love left by other visitors!
At any point, you can get back to the home page by clicking on the site name at the top of the page, just above the main box.
2. This site serves two main purposes: to keep you informed of what’s going on, and to provide a way to share thoughts, love and prayers with Kara and Ronan. You’ve probably already figured out how the information part works. As for the love, each post/entry has a link below it that says either “no comments” or “# comments”. If you click on that link, you’ll be able to read comments that others have left, and add your own. You have to leave an email address, but it won’t be displayed on the site — it’s just for internal tracking. I won’t sell it to spammers, promise! If it makes you really uncomfortable, just leave a fake address — it doesn’t get checked. Eventually, I hope to have a list of who has commented the most, so I encourage you to comment early and comment often!
3. You don’t need to register to use the site, but you’re welcome to do so.
4. Eventually, I also hope to have a “guestbook” type page, so keep an eye out for that.
