The first order of business once Captain Mike left was to explore the area. We were visited by several sea otters immediately, and when we went out for a quick paddle around the area, we saw a bald eagle and a seal. The beach we unloaded on was made of nice smooth "river" rocks like you might find in the NC mountains, but immediately you ran into craggy rock formations as you went around the point. There was brownish kelp or something like it marking the high-tide line and below.
