the flight
We arrived at the airport with little time to spare, but the plane was late so we sat in the airport and waited. I had to pay extra for my too-heavy duffle bag full of camping equipment, but I'm happy to report that everything arrived in Anchorage intact!
We sat on the tarmac for another hour or so because there was a groundstop in Chicago. There was a round of "Happy Birthday" on the plane while we waited, and generally everyone was in good spirits.
